When you create an account: your email address, a display name you choose, and a cryptographically hashed version of your password (we never store or see the password itself). As you use Spawns: a record of the games you own, purchases, and transfers (this ledger is the product — it's how we prove what you own), plus standard technical logs (IP addresses, timestamps) kept briefly for security and debugging.
Payment card details never touch our servers — payments are processed by our payment provider (e.g. Stripe), which handles your card under its own privacy policy. We don't track you across other websites, show ads, or sell or rent your personal information to anyone. Period.
To operate your account and library, execute the transfers you request, send transactional emails (welcome, password resets, transfer offers, and occasional service announcements), prevent fraud and abuse, and comply with legal obligations. The email address on a transfer offer is used to notify the recipient — that's the mechanism of gifting.
Your data is stored and processed by service providers acting on our behalf: Neon (database hosting), Railway (server hosting), Cloudflare (file storage and delivery), Resend (email delivery), and our payment provider. All connections are encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). These providers process data in the United States.
We don't use advertising or analytics cookies. The store and launcher keep a login token and interface preferences in your browser's / launcher's local storage — that's what keeps you signed in. Logging out clears it.
Email spawnsgamedev@gmail.com to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, correct it, or delete your account. Note that deleting an account with owned copies is permanent — transfer your games first if you want to keep them in the family. We answer within 30 days. Depending on where you live (EU/UK GDPR, California CCPA), you may have additional statutory rights; we honor reasonable requests from anyone regardless of jurisdiction.
Spawns is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
If this policy changes materially, we'll notify account holders by email before the change takes effect.
